The Houston Astros were named the Houston Colt .45s for their first three seasons. The Houston Colt .45s Royal Blue Ringer T-shirt is a 100% cotton royal blue tee, with contrasting orange arm and neck trim. The chest has the retro symbol with 'COLTS' in smoke emerging from the gun symbol on the chest. The Cooperstown Collection label is also embroidered above the bottom hem. The team used this symbol from 1962-64, then changed its name as it entered its new home, the Houston Astrodome. The team retained the dark blue, orange and white colours until the late nineties when the orange and blue were exchanged for the current black and brick hues.
