From 1962-64 the Houston Astros were called the Houston Colt .45s. They changed their name in 1965 upon playing the 1965 season in the Astrodome. The Houston Colt .45s Cooperstown Backtrax Tower Fitted Cap has that retro look. This tower cap has a flat navy brim and the cap sits up almost at a 90 degree angle from the brim, rather than the usual slope back and curved brim of current caps. The 1962-64 Colt .45s team script is embroidered in 3D onto the front in white and orange, with white piping embroidery framing the inseam of this navy blue and orange cap. The team's ".45s" cap lettering for those three seasons is embroidered in 3D at the back of this 80% acrylic 20% wool cap. The Houston Colt .45s Cooperstown Traxside Tower Fitted Cap is part of the Cooperstown Collection and has the official label embroidered inside the cap. Imported.
